Emoji to Favicon

Convert any emoji into a complete set of favicon and icon assets for web projects.

Usage

When the user wants to convert an emoji to favicon/icon assets:

npx emojico <emoji> --all --out <directory>

Arguments

  • <emoji> - The emoji to convert (required)
  • --out <dir> - Output directory (default: current directory)
  • --all - Generate all assets (recommended)

Examples

# Generate all favicon assets for rocket emoji
npx emojico πŸš€ --all

# Output to specific directory
npx emojico 🎨 --all --out ./public

# Just favicon.ico (no --all flag)
npx emojico πŸ”₯

Generated Files

With --all flag, the following assets are created:

File Size Purpose
favicon.ico 16x16, 32x32, 48x48 Browser tab icon
og-image.png 1200x630 Social media preview
favicons/favicon-16x16.png 16x16 Small browser icon
favicons/favicon-32x32.png 32x32 Standard browser icon
favicons/favicon-48x48.png 48x48 Large browser icon
apple-touch-icon/*.png 57-180px iOS home screen icons

HTML Integration

After generating, add to your HTML <head>:

<link rel="icon" href="/favicon.ico" sizes="any">
<link rel="icon" type="image/png" sizes="32x32" href="/favicons/favicon-32x32.png">
<link rel="icon" type="image/png" sizes="16x16" href="/favicons/favicon-16x16.png">
<link rel="apple-touch-icon" sizes="180x180" href="/apple-touch-icon/apple-touch-icon-180x180.png">

Tips

  • Use simple, recognizable emoji for best results at small sizes
  • The --all flag is recommended for complete browser/device coverage
  • For Next.js/Remix, output to ./public directory
  • For Vite, output to ./public or project root
